How To Blend Kinky Straight Clip In Hair Extensions With Short Hair

Clip in hair extensions are the perfect accessory to change your look without committing to a long term style. You can use them to add length, volume and color to your natural hair and still make it look super natural. We're going to show you the best way to add clip ins so that your short hair blends in seamlessly. The hair that we are using is from our Kinky Straight collection in 20 and 22 inches. We sewed clips on them turning them into clip ins (we'll show you exactly how to do it in another post.) But for now, lets get to blending!

1. It's very important to start with freshly washed and blow dried hair.  Use the middle of your ear as the starting point and part all the way across to the other ear. We recommend using a rat tail comb for this to get the part as even as possible. Pin the rest of your hair out of the way. Insert the clip in making sure to not get too close to the sides. You a little bit of your natural hair left out to hide the wefts.

2. Continue this process leaving about a half inch to an inch of your natural hair down to cover the wefts. Once you get to the top section decide where you want your part to be. Today, we are doing a simple middle part.

3. Starting at the arch of your eyebrow, part your hair straight back toward the middle of your head.

4. Be sure to smooth down your natural hair as much as possible using a brush so that it blends in effortlessly. You can even use a tiny bit of coconut oil on the ends of your natural hair to keep it smooth and shiny.

As you can see the hair blends in seamlessly. You can't tell where her short hair ends, or where the clip ins begin. The Kinky Straight hair is the perfect texture for natural hair that has been blown out.

Hair extensions have literallly been my life saviour since cutting my hair! I like my short hair but just didn’t feel like myself. I use the hair extensions from Minque hair and they are incredible! So soft and shiny and they really blend so well with my hair. www.minquehair.com

My goodness, these look lovely! I suffer from alopecia, which has drastically reduced the thickness of my natural 4c hair and forces me to wear wigs. I’ve been wanting to try some curly clip ins that actually look natural, but had no idea where to start. This might be the answer I was looking for! Thanks soooo much and have a lovely day!!
